We are La Casita del Bebé, a family-run baby store in Grecia, Alajuela. We sell car seats, strollers, bedside cribs and playpens from Graco, Joie and Premium Baby, ship anywhere in Costa Rica and answer your questions on WhatsApp in English.
Most baby stores in Costa Rica only speak Spanish online. We built these pages for families who live here, are moving here or are spending a season here, and want to buy the basics without guessing. The store itself (product pages, cart and checkout) is in Spanish, so below we explain each step in English. If anything is unclear, just message us and we will help you.

How to order (the checkout is in Spanish)
You can order on the website or simply on WhatsApp. On the website it works like any online store:
- Add it to your cart. On the product page the button says “Añadir al carrito” (add to cart).
- Go to checkout. In the cart, tap “Finalizar compra” (checkout).
- Fill in your details. Costa Rican addresses use provincia (province), cantón (county) and distrito (district). Add directions in the notes, local style: “200 m north of the church…”.
- Choose how to pay: card (Tarjeta, processed by Tilopay), SINPE Móvil, bank transfer (Transferencia) or layaway (Apartado, a ₡10,000 deposit).
- We confirm on WhatsApp and ship your order with Correos de Costa Rica, or have it ready for pickup in Grecia.

Shipping, pickup and payment
- Shipping: we ship to every province with Correos de Costa Rica, beach towns included (Guanacaste, Nosara, Tamarindo, Santa Teresa, Jacó, the Caribbean…). Free on orders from ₡65,000; ₡4,000 below that, with any payment method.
- Pickup: at our store in Grecia, Alajuela, 300 m west and 75 m south of the Grecia Municipality. Message us before you come.
- Card: credit or debit, processed on Tilopay's secure platform. You are charged in colones and your bank converts it.
- SINPE Móvil: Costa Rica's instant phone-number transfer, if you have a local bank account. Bank transfers work too.
- 0% installments (Tasa Cero): with eligible BAC credit cards.
- Layaway (Apartado): reserve with ₡10,000 and pay the rest within 60 days.
- Warranty: every product has 3 months of warranty, and up to 12 months depending on the brand.
Buy here, rent or order from the US?
It depends on how long you are staying:
- Short vacation (a week or two): renting is practical. Rental companies deliver to hotels and airports.
- A month or more, or living here: buying usually costs less. For example, one rental company in Guanacaste lists a pack and play at $12 a day; a month is about $360. Our Easy Fold play yard costs ₡40,000 (about US$88) and it is yours.
- Ordering from the US: you need a courier service (a casillero), you pay its fees and, depending on the item, import taxes, and you wait for it. Bulky items like strollers and car seats are the most expensive to bring.
Frequently asked questions
Do you speak English?
Yes. Message us on WhatsApp at +506 8426-8083 and we will answer in English. The online store is in Spanish, but we can guide you through it or take your order directly on WhatsApp.
Can you deliver to Tamarindo, Nosara, Santa Teresa or other beach towns?
Yes. We ship anywhere in Costa Rica with Correos de Costa Rica. Shipping is free on orders from ₡65,000 and costs ₡4,000 below that.
Can I pay in US dollars?
Prices and payments are in Costa Rican colones. If you pay by card, your bank converts the amount. The dollar prices on these pages are an approximate reference only.
Can I reserve something before it arrives or before I travel?
Yes. Choose “Apartado” (layaway) at checkout or ask us on WhatsApp: you reserve it with a ₡10,000 deposit and pay the rest within 60 days.
Do your products have a warranty?
Yes. Every product has a 3-month warranty, and up to 12 months depending on the brand. Keep your receipt.
