In Costa Rica a car seat is required for every child under 12 who is shorter than 1.45 m (see the car seat law). We carry seats for every stage, and you can see them in person at our store in Grecia or have them shipped.

Which type do you need?

The American Academy of Pediatrics recommends keeping children rear-facing as long as possible, up to the highest weight or height the seat allows, instead of turning them around at a fixed age.
Will it fit your car?
- Anchors: many seats install with the lower anchors of the car (called LATCH in the US and ISOFIX elsewhere) or with the 3-point seat belt. Check which ones your car has.
- Space: all-in-one and 360 seats take more room, especially rear-facing. Measure the back seat if you need two seats side by side.
- Try it: you can bring your car to our store in Grecia and test the seat before you pay.
Rent or buy?
Car rental agencies and baby gear rental companies rent seats by the day, which is handy for a short trip. If you are staying a month or more, or living here, buying usually costs less, and you know exactly which seat your child rides in, how old it is and how it was cared for. Car seats also expire: check the date printed on the label under the seat.

Yes. Reserve it with a ₡10,000 deposit (layaway) or pay online, and pick it up in Grecia or receive it at your address anywhere in Costa Rica.
Do car seats expire?
Yes. Each manufacturer sets a useful life, usually printed on a label under the seat or in the manual. Check it, especially on used or rented seats.
